About the region

Kherson region

The region is located in the south of Ukraine. In the south-west it borders n the Black Sea, and in the south-east it boreders on the Azov Seas. In the north it borders on Dnepropetrovsk, in the east on Zaporizhya, in the west on Nikolaev region, in the south on the Republic of Crimea.

In respect of the administrative-territorial relation represents 18 administrative districts.
There are 9 cities, 3 cities of regional subordination (Kherson, Kakhovka, Novaya Kakhovka), 30 towns, 654 villages.

The administrative center is Kherson.

Specialized branches of the Kherson region economy are industry (shipbuilding, agricultural machine-building, radio electronic and electronic industry, oil refining, light industry), the agro-industrial and recreational complexes.
